Charlotte is getting two new hotels, one uptown and one in Dilworth, which will be operated by San Francisco-based Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants. The new hotels total 344 rooms, and both are set to open in 2017. Charlotte was attractive to Kimpton because it is a “historically underserved market,” the company said in an announcement Tuesday, alluding to planners’ long-held desire for more hotel rooms to attract visitors and large events.
