Oahu hotels nearly full while Big Island hotel occupancy falls to 53%

Oahu’s hotels were nearly full last week despite charging more for their rooms, according to Hospitality Advisors LLC and STR Inc.  For the week ending Dec. 19, hotels on Oahu were 91.3 percent full, up 12.5 percentage points from the same week a year ago, while the average room rate jumped 7.3 percent to $222.63 per night.
